Asset Protection and IT Manager (Weyburn, Retail)

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Prairie Sky Co-op invites applications for the position of Asset Protection and IT Manager.

Reporting to the Controller, the Asset Protection and IT Manager will work closely with retail employees to administer and facilitate the Co-op’s loss prevention program to protect company employees, assets, and reputation in order to improve profitability in a multifaceted multi-location environment.

Other responsibilities include:
• Creating and implementing retail loss prevention and IT security policies and procedures
• Assessing and reporting areas of risk
• Monitoring inventory shortages by covering all areas of the location to prevent losses due to thefts, errors, and policy violations
• Coordinating and conducting employee training regarding loss prevention and IT compliance
• Frequent sales floor tours to determine potential internal/ external theft
• Ensuring environmental and maintenance procedure and check lists are in place and followed
• Monitor all alarm systems, maintain and update contact lists as required
• Monitor the CCTV systems and recommend updates and revisions
• Maintain internet connections, webhosting email accounts, and computer hardware, software, and networks

The successful applicant must demonstrate effective leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team. Applicants should be self reliant, goal oriented, and possess the ability to set and adjust priorities and schedule. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience or education in the loss prevention or information technology fields.

Other qualifications would include:
• Loss Prevention Certification would be considered an asset, courses in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified, or willingness to obtain.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Writer
• Familiarity with security systems technology and Point of Sale systems
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• Strong interview and negotiation skills
• Good report writing and communication skills
• Project management skills
• Travel between retail locations required
• Initiative and strong independent work ethic
• Ambitious attitude
• Basic understanding of LAN, WAN, and peripherals
