Location: Nanaimo, BC

Mid Island Co-op invites applications for the position of Marketing Manager to join our team at our Administration Office located in Nanaimo, British Columbia.


Reporting to the General Manager, and as part of the Co-op’s Senior Leadership Team, the Marketing Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the marketing portfolio at Mid Island Co-op.  The role is responsible for all aspects of marketing, ensuring alignment with our Mission, Vision and Core Values. 


Responsibilities for this position include the following:
• As a member of the Co-op’s Leadership Team, actively participates in short and long-term organizational planning and decision making, leading and creating marketing specific strategies, aligning initiatives to support the organization’s vision and strategic direction;
• Implements and oversees marketing of community/member relations activities and communicates significant changes impacting the Co-op’s image and brand;
• Works with media, event organizers, vendors/suppliers, etc. to meet project goals, timelines and budget; recommends and/or approves changes in conjunction with Senior Leadership;
• Oversees, monitors and administers the modification and implementation of brand/product plans, marketing/sales campaigns, promotions and advertising;
• Oversees and monitors Mid Island Co-op’s digital media and online presence; conducts communication through social media networks and tools and responds to external customer inquiries, complaints and comments;
• Conducts market research and monitors competitor activity directly impacting the Co-op to identify opportunities and trends within existing and new market segments.
• Partners with leaders to identify key operational metrics and trends that shape the marketing strategy;
• Provides recommendations on innovative ideas for articles, press releases, and events;
• Administers the operating budget for the function;
• Creates and edits internal and external communications;
• Develops and attains Key Performance Indicators for marketing strategies; and
• Develops and fosters strong working relationships with others across multiple departments to exchange/report/present information, advise and collaborate on issues/solutions.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Business with a specialty in Marketing
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience with 2+ years at a management level
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving
• Strong time and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information in a manner that can be understood by the audience.
• Advanced computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Social Media platforms
