The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 196 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Lloydminster & District Co-operative Ltd. invites applications for the position of Vice President Agriculture.

We've been in business for over 100 years and we're looking to hire an experienced Vice President for the Agriculture Division.

Position Summary: 

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Agriculture is a key member of the executive management team.  The VP Agriculture has overall responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all agricultural operational activities.  This includes providing leadership and coaching to all Ag Division team members, analyzing markets, specifying product/market requirements, branding, developing market messaging and sales strategy, inventory, management, building key partnerships, developing multi-channel marketing programs, facility maintenance, and fostering economic development in all agricultural offerings.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Agriculture or Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) accreditation would be considered an asset
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Agriculture Retail; preferably at a leadership level
  • Strong Agriculture background with sales experience in crop protection products and farm supplies
  • As our best candidate, you are engaging, respected and credible leader able to establish and maintain value-added relationships with senior leaders, members, customers and your team.  Your experience and commitment to ongoing learning has made you a credible expert in the Ag Industry.
