Southland Co-op is looking for a Home Centre Manager to join our team at our Assiniboia location. We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious, and energetic individual who will be involved in all aspects of Management including: recruitment, training and development and performance management.  This position has been designated as safety sensitive and will be subject to pre-employment alcohol and substance testing as per Southland’s policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop business strategies that support our retail goals and guiding statements.
• Organize, direct and co-ordinate the operations of the Home Centre while achieving budgeted goals.
• To direct the preparations of sales and promotional events.
• Requires knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin and inventory management.
• Provide superior leadership through coaching, development, management performance, and feedback to team members to ensure that they provide exceptional customer service and technical advice to our guests.
• Lead a culture of safety through the adherence to company standards for health & safety, loss prevention and environmental due diligence.

• Demonstrates effective team leadership skills and has the ability to work well within a multigenerational, highly motivated team
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong retail lumber and hardware management background
• Strong leadership skills that align with Southland’s values of responsibility, integrity and excellence.
• Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation, and teamwork
