Southland Co-op is looking for a Finance Manager to join our leadership team at our Administration Office in Assiniboia. We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious, and energetic individual who will be a key member of the administration management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop business strategies that support our retail goals and guiding statements.
• To prepare annual budgets, five year projections and business plans
• To co-ordinate internal and external audit functions.
• To ensure due diligence is practiced as it pertains to environmental protection.
• To ensure proper credit management standards are in place and followed.
• To be responsible for control of capital expenditures.
• To provide management with accurate, timely and relevant information.
• To be responsible for balance sheet and cash management
• To be responsible for the Co-op’s equity management program.
• To be responsible for the Co-op’s insurance programs.
• To work in compliance with the Co-op’s policies and procedures.
• Goal setting, performance management, and training and development.
• Lead a culture of safety through the adherence to company standards for health & safety, loss prevention and environmental due diligence.

• Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce/Business degree with a major in accounting.  A professional accounting designation.
• Four to five years of successful experience as a Financial Leader of a Retail Co-operative location with a minimum of $30 million in sales.
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, reporting, etc.)
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership skills that align with Southland’s values of responsibility, integrity and excellence.
