The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 196 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Lake Lenore Co-op Association invites applications for the position of Sales Agronomist.
As a member of the Lake Lenore Grow Team and reporting to the Crop-Inputs manager, this will take a lead role in partnering with local producers in Northeastern Saskatchewan.
The Agro Sales Rep will be responsible for preforming a variety of duties including: developing and implementing a farm contact plan, providing customers with relevant, timely, accurate information on products and services ; selling and promoting sales of seed, crop nutrition, crop protection products; aiding local producers in finding innovative solutions to help grow their business; delivering on field activities such as scouting and soil testing where required and communicate results effectively to grower customers. This position is also responsible for certain elements of sales, margin and expense control for developing and supporting Co-op Grow Team marketing initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Agriculture and/or CCA certification with 1+ years industry related work experience. Knowledge of sales and the rural farming business is essential. General knowledge of the Co-operative Retail System and its culture is considered an asset.
Candidates must possess a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills including superior written and oral communication skills. Effective team leadership skills and experience working within a multi-generational team are also an asset. Candidates must also be self-reliant, and goal-oriented with the ability to set and adjust priorities as needed.
Candidate must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. Local travel is required 75% of the time.
