Assistant Gas Bar Manager (Innisfail, Retail)

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 200 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Central Alberta Co-op invites applications for the position of Gas Bar Assistant Manager at our new Innisfail location.


Central Alberta Co-op is a dynamic Co-operative with budgeted sales in excess of $274 million dollars with Food, General Merchandise, Crop Supplies, Liquor and Petroleum as primary products.  Central Alberta Co-op is based in Red Deer with locations in the communities of Lacombe, Innisfail, Spruce View, Stettler, Elnora, and Crossfield providing employment for approximately 750 employees in the communities we serve. 


Reporting to the Gas Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing and actively performing the operations of this location including:
• Health and Safety
• Leadership to approximately 12 staff
• Anticipated first year sales of $10M with six pumps, tunnel car wash and a 1700 sq. ft convenience store
• Preparing and administering sales
• Margin, expenses, and inventory
• Ensuring that all merchandising standards, marketing efforts, employee relations and loss prevention standards are maintained.
• Development of annual budgets
• Ensuring that claims, invoices and administration duties are completed in a timely manner

This position requires a strong background in retail, along with direct supervisory experience.  Preference will be given to those candidates with previous or current experience in the Co-operative Retailing System.
