Location: Skidegate, BC

Haida Gwaii Co-op invites applications for the position of Full Time Bakery Operator to join our team at our new location in Skidegate, BC.

Haida Gwaii Co-op is part of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS), a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 170 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services.


The Bakery Operator will actively contribute to the effective operation of the Bakery Department to ensure the desired sales and margins are achieved and expenses controlled by regularly monitoring team functions and operational results, identifying area of concern or opportunity and taking actions to implement solutions. 
 
Reporting to the Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

1. Providing exceptional Guest Service
2. Directing team members tasks and responsibilities
3. Driving sales, margins and appropriate inventory levels
4. Ensuring merchandising, programs execution, production standards and health and safety standards are maintained
5. Timely completion of department financial administration
6. Contribute to the team in living the corporate values of Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork and Responsibility

Qualifications
• Retail experience an asset
• Baker certification or commercial baking experience
• Food safety experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and the ability to manage computer files
• Effective planning, organizational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Motivation and ability to work in a busy environment
• Flexible availability, early mornings, afternoons, early evenings, Monday- Sunday

**Please note the anticipated start date for this role will be in June/July 2019.
