The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 170 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Lloydminster and District Co-op invites applications for the position of Pharmacy Technician.

Lloydminster and District Co-op invites applications for the position of Pharmacy Technician to join our team at our Marketplace Pharmacy located in Lloydminster, Alberta.

The Pharmacy Technician works under the direction of a licensed pharmacist compounding, preparing, dispensing and performing final check on prescriptions and pharmaceutical products ensuring accuracy, optimal quality assurance and safety of each dispensed product.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

1. Be familiar with and adhere to the current Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians put forth by the Alberta College of Pharmacists
2. Perform final checks on prescriptions after they have been assessed by a pharmacist, including compliance packaging to ensure accurateness and to ensure the prescription is current, authentic and complete
3. Receive and transcribe prescriptions from prescribers – verbal and in person and assess prescriptions for completeness
4. Maintain patient profiles
5. Assist in managing dispensary inventory, ordering, receiving as well as proper storage and handling
6. Prepare medications after pharmacist has determined appropriateness of therapy
7. Troubleshoot billing/insurance issues and pharmacy software
8. Complete third-party insurance forms and other paperwork
9. Other duties as assigned

• Certificate or diploma from a training program accredited by the Canadian Council for Pharmacy Programs
• Registered or eligible to be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacists with a current practice permit
• Must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license
