Lumber Manager (Melfort, Retail)

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 190 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. Prairie North Co-op invites applications for the position of Lumber Manager to join our team at our Home and Ago Centre located in Melfort, SK.

The Lumber Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the Lumber Department including; sales, margins, merchandising, inventory control, and managing staff. Applicants must have a positive, ambitious attitude, with outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
 
Reporting to the Home and Agro Centre Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

1. To prepare, administer and be responsible for the sales, margin, expenses, inventory, quoting and SPMH of the Lumber department
2. To ensure all team members adhere to merchandising standards, marketing efforts, staff appearance, housekeeping and loss prevention.
3. To prepare the annual budget and ensure claims, invoices and all other paper work is done timely, accurately and meets policy and procedure.
4. To ensure self-development is planned for and the initiative is taken to improve knowledge, skills or attitude
5. To hold regular team meetings and to ensure all team members receive annual reviews at appropriate times.


Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be a self-starter providing and promoting excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of estimating and building materials is essential
• Positive attitude and team building skills
• Attention to detail
• Continued development of loyal customer base and continue to build new relationships
• 3rd year estimating certificate and or years of service
