Why isn't the Co-op Connection website displaying correctly in my browser?

This problem occurs in some browsers. Usually, it is a result of the web page having been designed for a previous version of Internet Explorer.

To resolve this problem when you are using Internet Explorer version 8 or version 9, view the page using 'Compatibility View'.

To turn 'Compatibility View' on, locate the compatibility view button and click it. The button is usually found to the right of the Address Bar, next to the Refresh button (see picture below).

After switching to the compatibility view, Internet Explorer will display the page using a browser that is compatible with the page. It will remember the change you made, so that next time you open that page it will still display properly. To view the page using the most recent version of Internet Explorer, click the button again.

Why does the PDF I've opened look strange or refuse to function as indicated?

The program used to create the PDF you are trying to use may have saved the PDF as a newer version than the Acrobat Reader you currently have installed on your computer. This may cause some features of the PDF (charts in documents created from PowerPoint slides) to be blacked out, or features of forms (automatic submission) to function improperly.

For best viewing of PDF documents on this site, please download the latest version of Acrobat Reader.

Sign in 1: What is the "CRS Employee Portal"?

If you are an employee of a retail co-op in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS), you are able to sign in to the Co-op Connection website in order to:

• Find out what's going on in the CRS, and
• Find tools and documents that will help you to perform your duties.

This "sign in" section of the site is called the CRS Employee Portal.

When you sign in to the Portal, the site will identify you and provide information that is personalized for your use. This personalization is based on your sign in information (see Sign in 2 below).

Sign in 2: What information do I need to be able to sign in to the CRS Employee Portal?

If you are an employee of the CRS and want to sign in to the Portal, you will need to know two key pieces of information:

• Your CRSID (see Sign in 3 below), and
• Your password (see Sign in 4 below).

Sign in 3: How can I find out what my CRSID is?

Most employees of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) will have an identification number (ID): a CRSID.

Your CRSID will be found on your paystub, in the middle of the top part, as in the image below:

If you cannot find this information on your paystub, please speak with your payroll person, your manager or your SARS administrator (see Sign in 7 below).

Please note: there are currently a small number of retails in the CRS that do not provide CRSIDs to their employees.

Sign in 4: How can I find out what my password is?

Your payroll person or your SARS administrator (see Sign in 7 below) will be able to provide you with your initial password.

Upon first signing in, you will be prompted to change your initial password.

In a world filled with so many passwords and numbers, it’s easy to forget a password. The CRS Employee Portal provides you with an option to help you set up your account with challenge questions in the event you forget in the future. Please follow the password self-care steps (see Sign in 6 below).

Please note: the Co-op Learning Centre website also uses your CRSID to sign in; however, the passwords will not be the same unless you set them to be that way yourself.

Sign in 5: How do I sign in to the CRS Employee Portal?

Once you have your CRSID and password at hand, you may sign in to the site using the following procedure:

1. On any page of the Co-op Connection web site, select the sign in button in the upper left corner of the page.
2. On the sign in screen that pops up, enter your CRSID and password into the appropriate boxes and press the sign in button below these boxes.
3. You must change your initial password upon first sign in; if you see the password expired screen, input your old password and then input and confirm your new password.
4. On the password expired screen, review the Password Policy content in the right column before pressing the submit button, to ensure your password meets the criteria.
5. The CRS Home page will now be open. It is strongly recommended that you follow the password self-care steps (see Sign in 6 below) to ensure that you can reset your own password if you happen to forget it.

Sign in 6: What if I forget my password?

If you have not set up your Password Self-Care questions and have forgotten your password, you will need to have your SARS administrator (see Sign in 7 below) request a CRSID reinstate using Option 3 of the SARS system.

When you are signed in, taking a few short minutes to set up your Password Self-Care can save yourself the grief caused by a forgotten password. To set up your Password Self-Care:

1. If you are signed in, you will see a button labeled my account beside your name in the top left corner of almost any page of the site.
2. Selecting the my account button will present you with another sign in screen for self care.
3. Enter your CRSID and your password to access the Password Self Care System.
4. After signing in, you will see the My Password selection box.
5. Select the Forgotten Password Information option. You will now see the Change Forgotten Password Information page.
6. Choose two of the questions and provide answers that are easy for you to remember. In the future, if you have to reset your password, you will have to supply the answers that you have given here.
7. Select OK. You will receive a ‘Request Completed: Change Forgotten Password Information’ message.
8. Select Return to Portal.

If you have set up your Password Self-Care questions and have forgotten your password, you can follow the steps below to reset your password:

1. On the Co-op Connection web site, select the sign in button in the upper left corner of the page.
2. On the sign in screen that pops up, enter your CRSID, and select Forgot your password? in the right column.
3. On the Forgot Your Password screen that appears, answer the two challenge questions you answered in step 6. above.
4. Select OK.

Sign in 7: Who is my SARS administrator?

Each retail has at least one person responsible for the Security Administrator Request System (SARS). This SARS administrator can use the SARS system to ask security-related questions and make requests.

One such request a SARS administrator can make is to Reinstate CRSID (Option 3 on the SARS screen). This will reset an employee's forgotten password. If you have forgotten your password and have not set up your password self-care, you will need to contact your SARS administrator to have them reinstate your CRSID.

Someone in your retail's payroll department, your manager, the Office Manager or your retail's General Manager will either be the SARS administrator or should know who the SARS administrator is.
